Hi guys, and thanks to those of you who have emailed me with info and help, the problem is. I have continually tried to respond to those emails, and they are being returned, with the message sorry that domain is not on our list of allowed rctphosts. I sent one to marc, and two to chuck lott today and they were all returned. anybody got a clue. Steve and Cindi |

Your email provider has the domains blocked at the server level. Complain to your ISP or whoever handles your SMTP & POP3 Mail. This can also happen in a firewall problem. |

How are you connecting to the web? If you're using WiFi, or a connection other than a direct connect to your email server, the mail will be refused at many other servers as being "bounced" email - That's the most common type of forwarding that spammers use. If that is the only way you can connect, try using your ISP's email web access, instead of using your computer's email program to send mail. |

If you are using Outlook Express, Go into tools and accounts and check to see if you have the checkbox ( My server requires authentication ) checked and the next page that either you have a username and password in use or the box for use same information checked. What may be happening is that you can get mail but can't send it because your mail server requires you to check-before-send which needs authorization active. Or you are on a connection not listed as OK in the mail servers software. "rctphosts" list. |

Steve- Instead of using your directpc connection, try a direct dialup to your isp (Cybertrails), and see if the mail gets delivered. |

many thanks to Dr.Dave, followed your suggestion and it looks like it is working again, don't know how that happened, maybe has something to do with my setting up a wireless access point so that my neighbors in the campground could use my service, to check their email and surf. anyway thanks again . looks like it is working now. That's how I got my nickname "DrDave" been doing computers since before many could spell computer. Needless to say, I usually have to rescue people after they do their own "upgrades" and as the backup tech for 150 websites and 1,500 or so email users I have to be able to figure out the silly stuff. The nickname also relates to the fact that I occasionally have to repair the printing presses and other equipment at work (when I work!). Saves the company about $100k a year so they pay me my $20k & medical just to be available. Otherwise I an semi-retarded. ( bad heart, ICD implant and cardiomyopathy )... I work when I am called, Otherwise I stay home and play with my computer or bus stuff. Dave.... |
