Does anybody know if a 83 Mustang 5.0 four speed can be towed with 4 wheels down. Can't find any real info.

Did you check the Remco site? Don't know...just a suggestion.

Yup! Just need a good solid towbar, and some lights hooked up. Be sure and buy an extra ignition key so you can leave one in the ignition,(with the doors locked) and turned to the "ACC" position to unlock the steering column. Cheers...JJ

Has anybody removed the steering lock pin on a car to make it towable with the key out? I have considered doing this on my Mercedes 300SD. It also prevents a stuck switch (pin) which is a $500 plus repair job.

By the way, these great cars are only a couple of thousand dollars now for a good one. I just finishsed my towbar mount with built in surge brake and it works perfectly. If anyone wants to put a driveshaft disconnect on one, the $250 adapter needed for Mercedes could be made in any machine shop for under $100.
