I just read this on another board that is on a completely different subject. I hope the author doesn't object to me publishing his post.

"When you pay a consulting fee, you buy the information which you specifically asked for. Extra information that is helpful is a bonus, but infrequently given. When someone takes their own time to generously give the information for free, appreciation is generally proffered, even if it is not exactly what you were looking for.

Some of us are long winded, some are A.D.D., some don’t take the time to read everything previously posted, a few have a random brain fart, some offer what little advice they are able (perhaps just to get the ball rolling), occasionally someone takes the thread in a different direction, very few are just jerks or idiots.

What ever the case, it is certainly not a hard thing to live with.

Since this is a forum that can be searched by people looking for answers that have already been asked, some folks add information and hints that skirt the original question for the purpose of helping those with similar, but not exactly the same, questions.

For all of you who take your valuable time and share your expertise to help myself and others, I humbly thank you."

Nice post, Stan!
(Does that apply to me as well?)

All along my route through this contorted conversion I'm
attempting, I've held BNO close. Here, I have acquired more
valuable information in every aspect of conversions, than any
worthless information. And I trust all others do as I have,
and question every opinion; research it, and consider all
opposing opinions, before making a decision.

Every one of us has experience in one area or another; every
one out there should contribute what they can, when they can,
and not fear being chastised, demeaned, or made to look foolish
for attempting to contribute. Even those that know nothing about
buses, can offer suggestions that can be very worthwhile. It's
like that old addage: "From the mouths of babes"......

Oh, and Stan.... I trust you (or anyone else) do not take anything
I may type out as an insult. On another thread, I mentioned the
argument being "tiring". I did not mean that to you personally,
or as any sort of insult. It was only as an illustration of frustration,
that the group debate was needed over what various manufacturers
have to say about their own product, and the advice offered by
each of us...

Too often on bulletin boards, typed words do not reflect what
the author's mood was, when it was typed. It can lead to hard
feelings when none were intended, and I certainly hope you were
not offended.

Well said John TNG,

When you have time, send me an email off board.
I've got a couple questions. If I don't forget!

I am a regular reader and infrequent poster on the BNO board. There are so many contributions, on and off-topic, from so many well educated and experienced folks, that I have become intimidated by even the most menial task on my bus conversion. The more I learn, the more I discover there is to learn. I used to dive in, power tools in hand, with no regard for consequences. Now I consider every possible scenario and find myself sitting with my elbow on my knee, and my chin resting upon my hand, thinking and accomplishing nothing. THANKS A LOT!

Just kidding. :-) I love this board! The advice and info given is invaluable. I look forward to the day when I move from bus converter to traveler, and get a chance to meet some of you.

Does this post qualify me as someone who "takes the thread in a different direction"?

Bob - I think you move from Bus Converter to Bus Converter / Traveler as a Bus Converter's work is never done... :-)

You may be right Craig. or you could say that one moves from bus converter to Motor Coach fixer.

That's scary. I'm a lousy mechanic.

Bob-

While you still have a few bucks for a magic marker and heavy
paper, pick a busy corner and write yourself a sign that says:
