After years of apologizing for her conduct during the Vietnam War, Jane Fonda is at it again. Jane is now beginning a bus tour to spread her anti-war campaign for the Iraq War. I found it interesting to see that she pointed out that she will be touring in a bus which uses vegetable oil. Does she believe that alternative fuel might change a persons mind about a war?

I profoundly believe in a persons right to have their own views and opinions, however I do take exception to these "stars" trying use their fame to force their beliefs on us.

Well most of them don't live in the real world anyways.

Just my two cents for what it worth.

An Anti-War Campaign in a bus which smells like French Fries, how ironic.

I read the artical, and I am shaking as I write this, with so strong inner feelings, that need not be expressed on this thread. Most people my age have memories of Vietnam, and the damage a traitor can do.
I digress, before I show my ignorance

These are pretty stupid messages, the Vietnam war (I was there) is over guys-give ole Jane a break in her old age. The VN war was bad enough but Iraq shows our dingbat leaders have learned nothing.

Look to the future and think about buses!!

Heck Jane may not be too bright, but in her 20's she was one of the cutest chicks on the planet, bright or not.
If you really want to get her goat go watch Barbarella, and tell everyone about it. She loathes the fact that she made that movie, but I think its the best thing she EVER did!! :-)

I agree, professionally, Barbarella is probably the best thing she ever did;

On Golden Pond, wasn't acting, it was biographical.

Economically, the exercise tapes, but it's telling that all that $$ went to T.Turner's pet peeves,

Virtue is it's own reward

The fitting, but improbable, end would be to have her arrested for failing to pay applicable OTR tax on the veggie fuel (if not exempt)

In my opinion, I am wasting my time even replying.
If she makes another foreign trip maybe this time her head might wind up in Bin Laden's cave as a trophy. Reciently she was talking about her poor choices while being young. Looks like her memory of only a few weeks ago is on par with her IQ. ZERO. I did not forgive her but thought she was sincerely having remorse for her former actions--what a fool I was!!!!

Craig, I'm going to wisely assume that you didn't change your position, just a (brief) opinion about brainles Jane. My French teacher in college was a close personal friend and was responsible for bringing Jane to the campus to speak to the Anti-war issues. Brainless is a first hand opinion.

My objection to the war wasn't the fact of it, but the stupid way it was prosecuted, wasting American lives and effort.

Seems to be a sentiment accomodated currently. I'd simply house the Al Quaeda in Gitmo in the homes of some of these politically correct "do-gooders", How long would it take before the peace-niks metamorphosed into Hawks?

A short change of opinion doesn't make you a fool, but it cetrtainly confirms that she is!

I can't say that I can rally behind Hanoi Jane, but there are a few good things going on here. First, using veggie oil in a bus is paying a (I hope) American farmer for fuel, not one of bin Laden's buddies. It also is better for the environment from all the stuff I have read. While one may or may not appreciate her policital views, the veggie oil makes sense.

As for getting out of Iraq - I want to say to all those of you in my generation that served in Viet Nam - Thank you for serving. We don't need to sacrifice more young men in Viet Nam II - Iraq.

Let's support our troops the best way we possibly can - bring them home - alive and now!

My $0.02 worth. Your milage may differ.

Having spent 2003 serving in the Middle East, 17 years total in uniform, I can truthfully say that I firmly believe that she has every right to exercise her first amendment right of free speech. I don't agree with her politics. I think that she's just looking for media attention now that her career is over. And I think she has every chance to give BioDiesel a bad name LOL ! But seriously, the best the whole nation can do is ignore her. The vast majority of men and women in uniform do.

Gary is right, in her day she was a knockout for sure, you young whippersnappers don't know about those days.

What makes this a great country is that you can call our idiot leaders idiots and it is OK, this is called Democracy.

After 32 years in Uncle Sam's Navy most of this stuff doesn't bother me much anymore, mostly the super patriot flag wavers and bible thumpers are the ones that get my goat.

Is it just POSSIBLE that she was and is working for OUR SIDE and all the stuff she did/does is just a deep cover? Makes me wonder sometimes. Forgive? Maybe. Forget? No way.
