For you DD 2 stroke owners: Who uses 180 degree t-stats? Who uses 170's? Anyone using 190 degree stats? I'm using 170 now and the engine is too cold in the winter and 200+ in the summer. I'm thinking about going back to 180's, but wonder about the 190's David Anderson |

I'm running 190's but they are what came with the engine...Temp runs from 195..to just below 200..on both of my gauges..(front and rear)...doesn't matter if outside is 60 or 110..engine runs the same...just working cooling system..seems all the later model ddec two strokes run 190 ...closer to the best running stemp..gg04 |

my Eagle runs 182 all the time, with one exception...this summer I had a crosswind from the door side,...kind of a no wind situation on the rad. side, temp. on one guage got up to 195... |

I have 190's and 1/2 of the rad covered with a blanket. I got it to 200 pulling Roger's Pass this summer on an 80+ degree day with my boat behind and my foot in it all the way up. |

I think you will find DD wants it at 190, diesels don't run well at low temps. Check the manual. |

Are the 190's recommended for the 6v92 mechanical silver series, mid 80's vintage? The book I have is late 70's and recommends coolant temps no higher than 185 which makes a 180 t-stat in order. David |

Dave, I tried twice to send you a pdf file containing the Series 92 Engine Operator's Guide. I used the email address on your profile, but each time comes back as IP address no good. I'll be happy to resend it if you have another address. The file is 765K. Chuck Newman Oroville, CA |

David, I tried 4 times, the last one being a simple email with no attachment. I get a long cryptic error message returned for each. I don't know what up with that. A copy of my email to you is below. Chuck Newman Hi David, I tried again -- got the same message below. I sent it to myself at a different mail box and it worked. Don't know what or where the problem is. But I have a simple solution. I can send you a copy of the CD. It only has the one pdf file one it. A guy on eBay sells quite a bit of DD related stuff. I've several manuals and CDs from him. Some specific to my bus, some not, but otherwise great reference material at very reasonalble prices. Email me off the board a mailing address and I'll pop it in the mail Monday. Take care, Chuck Newman Oroville, CA ______________________________________________________________ |

RE: "Network IP address rejected" Youse been blacklisted, Chuckie. I get that frequently when I use the cellphone or a wifi connection, and occasionally with the dialup. Using a different dialup number nets a different IP address and the mail goes through. It sounds like the his ISP's got your IP blocked for spam prevention. Oh well. I've lost sales to AOL subscribers when AOL arbitrarily rejected all email from "business dot com's". I couldn't return info. Life ^%#%*, then ya' die. |
