I have a two coleman ac the first is working great the other is not. The unit had a wire that was connected to the bottom of the compressor that was burned thru. It appeard as if the spade connector that it was attached to was arching. I replaced that connector. When I started the ac the circuit blew asap. Appears as if the compressor may be locked up or shorted out. Anyone have any ideas other then locked up/shorted out?
Does anyone know where these compressors can be obtained and approx cost?

Or anyone in the south have a used ac they are wishing to sell?

The way to check for a shorted compressor is make sure the power to the unit is off. Disconnect the wires at the terminals on the compressor. Take an ohm meter attach one side to the compressor terminals and one to the compressor housing. If you don't get a reading your compressor has shorted and will not restart. You may have to remove a little paint on the compressor housing to get to metal in order to get a good connection. Do all terminals going into the compressor. This will tell you if the compressor has shorted or grounded. As far as a replacement, I bought two new coleman mach3 in the box a couple years ago for $375.00 each. Sometimes it better to replace than repair. I found the units for sell advertised in the RV Trader magazine. If you don't find a number, let me know and I will dig through a few receipts get the wholesalers number. Good Luck!

I think I have located a 15k here for 250.00 Used but warrantied. I purchased one from the same source last year and have been thrilled with it. With the temps here 96 degrees with 100%humidity the one unit can not keep up.
