I was stunned to find out that James "Chip" Maxwell passed away last Sat. Bad heart. He will be sorely missed. I enjoyed his willingness to help a friend, his knowledge and his fun dry humor.

Jim, I kept hoping that this was some sort of cruel joke.

This one has hit me as harder than most “passing” posts. I always enjoyed talking to Chip in person (most recently at BusN’ USA). I also enjoyed doing business with him.

More importantly, I (and I think everyone else) will miss his great posts. He was an expert in AC technology and had a vast amount of knowledge stored in his head. Most recently we have been corresponding off line about Pro-Link data readers.

Rest in peace friend!!

He posted here on BNO as recently as Saturday. In my bus database I have more than 100 posts to which he contributed.

When posting last year in a thread querying our average age, he said, "Maybe by sometime next week I'll go back to being 60."

Godspeed, Mr. Maxwell.

I didn't know Jim personally, but have surely benefitted from his advice and information....as recently as last week regarding air conditioning change over....in fact I was working on it just before I read this thread.

God bless you, Jim.

I am at a loss for words. It is a COMPLETE shame that this has happened. I really appreciated his insight on my problems with the A/C etc. Although I am new to this community, his knowledge and willingness to share it will NOT be forgotten. My condolences to his friends and family.

This so shocking and disconsoling - Having never met him, just like most conversing with him on this and other boards - I new I would and should meet him one day - I was looking forward to it - Please, some one who has communication with his family, pass along our families condolences -

James will be missed, he was one of those contributers that even if I didn't have a great interest in a topic, I would read his response.

But as it says under the Archives;

Everything that was ever said lives forever, right here...

As I sat here the other evening, about to post another smart-alec
remark regarding something I knew little about.... I felt a hard,
swift *SMACK* to the back of my head, with what felt like
a rolled up Sunday Times...... So I didn't post my comment.

I realize now, it was the spirit of James Maxwell, visiting me
on his way through.

Bless ya' James. I'll miss ya'.

Jim was one of the first names I saw here last year when I started reading this site. You could always count on his postings to be accurate and well written.

God Bless Jim and his Family.....

Heaven now has a top notch AC Tech at their disposal.

As a fellow Neoplan owner and a fan of most of the sensible posts that Jim has written I join all of our bus family in wishing him "Happy Cruising in the great beyond". I too never met Jim, but like so many of you I had an image of THE MAN and his shoes will be hard to fill. - Russ

Aw, this is horrible news! Just last week James was helping me with my diesel genny remote start. As a major contributor to this board, his advice was always sensible and knowledgeable.

After being offline for five days meandering our way to to lovely San Diego in the bus, I log on and find out this sad news.

Rest in peace, fellow busnut. You will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
