In a previous string there was a recommendation to use "Sea-foam" in my Onan gas tand full of stale gas to make it run better.

I asked what it is and where to find it but no answer, anyone know?

Thanks

Thanks to all.

2D,

I thought I was supposed to add it to the old gas??

Why use it after the gas is drained?

Hi Gus,

Jay here, I'm the one that suggested the "Sea-Foam". If you Drain the old gas use the recommended amount. If you leave the old gas in double the amount. This is not in any directions you'll find just my previous experience.

Yes NAPA has it at least in the Chicago area, I don't know where you call home. It is kind of pricey, $7.00 a pint but has always worked miricles for me. Yes I said miricles.

Good luck,
Jay Gerlick

And Mystery Marvel oil is #1diesel with red die and oil of wintergreen to cover the diesel smell, according to a pal who is a chemist at Mobil.

Two Dogs you are always trying to start a argument! Sea-foam is light green, and works! Tried Marvel's mystery oil and was not impressed. If you haven't ever tried sea-foam try it next spring in your mower , wheater you drained the gas and used "sta-bil' or not. Cleans out all that old crap and it will run better, really!

Jay,

I'll try my auto store for Sea Foam. What is it designed for, is it to stabilize gas or make engines run better? My gen tank is 24 gal and full, how much SF will I need?

I always used MMO for valves and rings, not gas. Always worked great for me, especially for airplane engines.

Sta-Bil is ok but not great. If one uses a bit too much it will never ignite, learned the hard way.
