I have a few questions about the removal of the bus A/C first how do you tell what kind of freon it has in it? How much is in it? Then if it is R12 does it have any value? The bus is an Eagle 05, 1972 that appears to have the original equipment. Happy New Year, Mike SS |

Mike; R12 is very expensive. If you are to sevice your unit, figure $25-40 per pound, for comparison R22 that goes in your house A/C is about $.90 (cents) per pound. Also, if the EPA catches you releasing any CFC into the atmosphere, its a $25,000 fine, and $10,000 the rat that calls them. You should be able to get an A/C shop to evacuate your system for you and give you some cash credit on the gas. Call around. Good luck, Bill Schwab. |

Well It cost me $35.00 to find out that there was NO freon in the system and a broken fitting at one of the hoses. It took me about 3 hours to remove the complete system. I think the total weight was about 400 lb. Mike SS |

I just pulled my Sanyo ductless split system out. It took me about a 1/2 hour. Reason... to get to the starter on the coach that needed replaced and also the A/C needed a new compressor! I picked the whole unit up by myself, loaded it in the van, took it to friends house and hopefully in short time will re-install it so I CAN HAVE SOME HEAT! A&$ |
