i may end up as hurricane bait.. but in the meantime if anyone needs a place to run... ive got it.... electricity... well water....we'll have to share the sewer.... i'm in victoria tx...125 miles west of houston....i'll have to move some rolling stock around, but anybody is welcome!!!!!!! jimcat2@webtv.net btw, im 30 miles from the gulf of mexico and about 40 feet above sea level.... |

Maybe we can just divert Hurricane Rita to Cuba and send the Gov. Blanco of Louisiana to coordinate it for them.... |

ok.. gotta withdraw the offer... victoria county commisioners issued a mandatory evacuation order effective thurs morning 8am... with curfew set at 7pm... so it looks like im headed farther south... towards corpus christi.... ive got hotel reservations there fri and sat night..... looks like this is gonna be a big 1.... |

Jim,
Even if she comes in near Port Lavaca, you will be rocking and rolling in Corpus, too. You'll probably have the whole beach to yourself, however. Good luck, and hold on. We are worried a bit up here in Pleasanton. Lot's of northbound traffic on IH 37. Lots and lots of RV's moving out of harm's way. San Antonio will be packed.

may head to los indios..... don ks/tx told me where the key to his place is hidden...they're headed to new braunfels to look at a couple of motorhomes....ive got the mci 9 parked next to my HR motorhome.... the motorhome is backed up to an old house... and i have a step van parked in front too... all glass is covereed with thick plastic/fiberglass sheets...i figure corpus is a good place to run from.... i havent been to mexico in quite a while... i need a new hat anyway.... |

victoria issued a staement that they would not drag anybody from their home, but emergency services would not be available....and a curfew is in effect from 7pm until 8 am ... if you're non-essential and wandering the streets, you get a free ride to jail.. anyway, sometime today, im headed to corpus.... at last report, rita had turned north and was headed for galveston...its still more than 24 hrs from landfall and lots can happen..... there's still lots of busnuts in harms way... debdave in kemah... rayshound in lake jackson... radmax in that area also....hope that they're doin ok.... |

i took the 310 to san antonio 3 weeks ago....with 110lowlead at $4.60 gallon its not going anywhere...avemco pulled my insurance...so i can't use it as a trainer.... |

ok.. news flash..... rita is 434 miles rom pprt arthur.. so the county commisioners have lifted the emergency evac orders... but the curfew from 8pm till 7 am is still in effect....i went on a tour of town a while ago... nothing is open.... this evac was well organized....kudos to our county officials.... |
