Strap a huge honkin rocket engine on it and call it a shuttle too??? All bus conversions qualify as "space" vehicles, they have all the "necessary" functions on board. Propulsion, navigation, environmental, galley and sleeping areas and entertainment. Even have landing gear too! ( or does that also apply to air cushion vehicles? ) as most ride on air... <grin>....... |

ironically enough, if you have ever sat in a 56 scenicruiser with the interior stripped out of it, or crawled around in the storage bays, engine compartment, and so on, it definitely has that "aircraft" feel to it. when i had to pull the ac and heater core out to get to the shift linkage at the bottom of the stairs, crawled in up to my ankles, it's very easy to imagine you're deep in a giant starship trying to fix something the robots can't handle... or maybe it's just me -dd |

"if you have ever sat in a 56 scenicruiser with the interior stripped out of it, or crawled around in the storage bays, engine compartment, and so on, it definitely has that "aircraft" feel to it." Actually all the monicoque GM are the same Aircraft style , their monocoque construction is why they will still be running the roads , after another 50 years. Works for me! FAST FRED |
