I recently purchased a HTB748 without the wiring, brain or shifter. I am going to hook it to a series 60. I'm looking for possible sources to purchase these items. I have a few leads but would appreciate some ideas. I have already purchased the parts manual, service manual & troubleshooting manuals from allison. Thanks Ray

Ray,

I was thinking about you when Rita came through. Did you have to work during the storm? Is the bus OK?

Did o.k. Chuck. close call. I thought it was all over for the residence but it turned and hit Lake Charles & Beaumount. We left to get away from the storm. When we got back nothing touched, bus o.k. Thanks for asking. Ray

Find a donor bus. I think 1990 Orions had a 748 behind the 6v-92.It's an ATEC system. Need to get the ECU, shift pad, interface module, and harnesses. Early '90's Prevost H3-40 also has a Series 60 and a 748.Might be best application to use as a guide for your swap.Send e-mail if you need info. Best of luck with your swap.

Thanks for the post Sammy I e-mailed you directly. Does anyone know of a transit or Prevost bone yard? I had called Caylors but he carries MCI only. A series 50 transit like Clarke speaks about would be ideal but may be hard to find. Thanks Ray

There was a guy selling a lot of Gillig Phantoms on Ebay. Most sold for less than 3k. They all had 6v92s coupled to HTB748s. His username is surplusminneapolis.

another place to try would be nimco in new jersey. they get almost all of our old buses there, and they torch them, after they get the good stuff out of them.
