Trying to deside weather to replace L-16 Batteries with Lifeline 4D's ? I know someone has made this change, the question for the cost difference is it worth the $200.00 extra cost ? |

Well Most of that was on me . When I installed the Vanner equalizer I missed wired it so that the charger was reading one battery as charged when it was over charged the other was dead or would only run the bus for about 3 hrs.I did not find the wiring but my dad found where we had gone bad. |

One year ago noticed my 4D AGM lifelines were swelled and not fully charging- only 18 mo's old - they replaced 8 and prorated for $1300 including freight - new batts are different and no problems with these - I think they may have had a problem with the earlier ones - depending on how long these last I may go to Trojans - It seems with "premium" batts and their long proration warranties, you're just prepaying for your next set of batts - JMHO - Niles |

Sams carries optimas. I am now starting my bus on two 850 CCA opimas (red start battery style). This is a summer test. I don't know yet what I will do for winter. I plan to use an optima for my generator in any case but I may go with Lifelines for the start and house batteries. It is a lot of money if the performance and life are not there. Due to a blown fuse in the system I had the two 750 CCA optimas I have for house batteries down to less than 10 volts overnight. They took a charge again, and in the next few days I am going to run them down in a test to see if they still have a normal discharge time. |
