I have been trying find out the type of auto tranie will fit in my mc5a ,some people have said a allison 640 or 643 others have said that these tranies won,t work that they won,t handle the power of a 8v71 and will breake down .others have said a740 and others said that a740 was to big and won,t fit in a mc5a .so which wood be the right auto tranie for a mc5 a |

In a MC5 you can only use a 700 series transmission with a six cylinder engine. There are many MC5s on the road with a 600 series with a 8V71. The most common one used is the 644. You cannot use a 600 series with a deep reduction first gear. HTH |
