What is the simplest way to increase the power in an old 4104. cylinder pressure is OK in five cylinders but weak in one when it is cold. all come up ok when warm. cylinders are pretty well glazed with no cross hatching visible in the ones I inspected without removing the blower. I have the mountain gears and can cruise at about 65 mph but it doesn't like hills. Most long grades require third gear or even second. Would an in frame rebuild give me a noticable improvement in power, or should I look at a repower job???

it should..... the cross-hatch pattern missing is evidence that wear is apparent.....and your statement about the weak cylinder is also....an inframe overhaul will consist of new/rebuilt cylinder kits.... new rod and main bearings.....new/rebuilt injectors....a new/rebuilt head with a valve job.....you can consider replacing the water pump and oil pump too..... maybe reseal the blower...... also replace the fuel transferr pump... and fix any oil, water or fuel leaks.....you would basically have a "new" engine after an inframe.....depending on the amount of wear in the bearings, you may want to replace the cam bearings also....
