Most buses seem to have a couch and maybe a chair or two on the other side, does anyone have a large couch on one side and a smaller non sleeper couch on the opposite side? The scheme that i was planning was a large easy bed on the drivers side starting about 6 inches from behind the drivers seat then a U shaped dinette, then the refrigerator. Across from that the co-pilots seat then a smaller(shorter in length non hide a bed) then building the kitchen counter from there back to the wall for the bathroom. I guess my question is after all the beating around is this, am i going to have enough room to walk through the aisle and how much room should i leave? I find myself getting way ahead of myself all the time, its getting difficult to keep track of everything, I just wasn't wanting to block, crowd, or have to do something over. As always thanks for the input!

Hi Pat ..I have the exact layout on the drivers side and close on the pass side. On the pass side I have the co-pilots seat that rotates around, then a computer desk 14" x 28" with a fold-up table top, then a swivel rocker chair, then the kitchen counter. With a 96" coach it's would be pretty tight to fit 2 couches in.

Pat, the big question might be: if you have a small couch across the aisle from your sleeper, will the sleeper couch have enough room to open fully.
As I'm by myself, I was wanting an easy chair across from my couch/sleeper, but a lot of them are larger than a couch.
Flexsteel probably has some dimensions on their website.

Pat,

What about making your own couches.

Make them to fit your space!

I saw Fred Hobes design at Bussin 2005 and they were really nice.

He built them out of a steel frame, had full length drawers underneath.

I plan on giving him the sincerest form of flattery and copying them.

Hi Pat
There is a ton of RV furniture including one company that will custom make furniture to your specs. The easy way to find it is do a search for "RV furniture". Some of the following will show up:
http://www.rvseating.com
http://www.rvsurplussalvage.com
http://www.vehiclespeciality.com
http://www.portofolio.thorloki.com/marinerv/furniture_rv.html
http://www.rvandvansurplus.com
http://www.countrysidervinteriors.com
http://www.villainternational.com
http://www.customrvinteriors.com
Should be able to find a good layout with all these sites. The last one will even design your interior for you and then order the product and install. Only bummer for us they are in Washington state!! I have plans for a fabric sofa behind driver then kitchen and a short leather J sofa opposite behind the co-pilot and then table and chairs.
I just finished taping the entire floor plan on the floor after spending the past 5 months playing with scale models. Next step is tomorrow we are getting 15 used referigerator boxes and making scale templates inside the bus to make sure everything is right before starting on actual interior construction.

Hey Ed! Yes i agree that is the question. I've talked to Brad and Hall and they sent me all of their information. Its still a tough choice! Ron when you go to Mexico this winter you make sure you take plenty pictures and post them for all of us still mired in the vast frozen north! My wife's face really lit up when she read that post about going south.......! Cliff buddy that is an awesome idea, i sure could use that information too, I keep checking your site Cliff your doing a great job! Rob thanks for the links, those really come in handy and i will check them out. You know i couldn't wait for summer to really catch up on the bus, but i believe the cooler it gets my production seems to increase. There isn't anything like a cool fall day, trees changing color, my UPS chaser laying here watching me work on my bus, kids in school, wife at work, if it ends tomorrow it was a great ride!
