__. Do you mean as preparation for painting? __. When Central Carolina did my bus the summer, they used chemicals to strip the old paint. I have an aluminum panel body and everyone said that any kind of blasting will stretch the aluminum and cause it to "sag". I'm very pleased with the result. YMMV, BH, NC USA |

Chris That sounds like a fair price. The soda is easy clean up and wont hurt rubber or glass. the new thing out there is dry ice blasting that even cleaner |

Chris, Schedule the painting for IMMEDIATELY after the soda blast. Soda blast is a great process, but the metals are left with NO protective coating. Oxidation will occur immediately (within hours, including aluminum). Jim Stacy |

Soda blasting is not as abrasive as sand and is much preferred by most paint shops over sand or chemical stripping. Sand will heat the surface and high pressure can damage the panels as well as etch glass and other materials. Sand tends to always stick around and get in the finish coat also, as well as chemical strippers get under rivets or in seams and then a few weeks later destroys the paint job. The soda is easily washed off and it does a great job. Next down the line is I believe Walnut hulls if they are available. Richard |

Best possible method to remove paint without damage to any of the other parts as for oxidation of the panels use an acid etching primer best for non ferrous metals such as aluminum and stainless |
