I tell you! Ever since I owned the Prevost H-3 I never had dash lights. Driving down the highway using a flashlight to see the gauges gets old so I finally decided to research the problem. After ONE call to Prevost to help decipher the problem and to order the needed UPDATED part/s, I now have dash lights in ALL the gauges including the shifter on the side and all the gadget switches that work things I never knew I even had and I can dim them as well. This procedure to change out the updated parts took every bit of 5 minutes. Honestly, 5 minutes! It was as simple as removing the dimmer switch. Unplugging it from harness that led to a black box in the alarm junction box below. Installed the new dimmer switch which was bigger and takes the place of the large black box they call the potentiometer and plugging it up using a new wire harness connector to old existing wire harness. Turn on batteries and then the exterior lights and for the first time, I had dash lights. It kind of looked like Christmas with all the blue, red, and white'ish colors. Now I can't wait to drive at night again which I was avoiding at all cost! Oh well, just goes to show that the simple things that might cost you a bundle to get fixed by a shop were done in no time for very little. That's two items fixed this week. Let's see, what else was on that gotta get er fixed list that Susan has hidden? I'm sure she'll let me know after this! Later... Ace |

Yea I think so and now I have an official account with them. All I have to do whern I call them is give my name and they know exactly what bus I have and ask what I need! It gets delivered right to my door and as in the past, free shipping! Ace |

Ace, Congratulations on getting another minor nuisance bug fixed. FYI a potentiometer is just a fancy name for a variable resistor. Richard |

Prevost Parts is the best. The first time I phoned was on a Sunday - I wasn't sure I had the right number & was just calling to see what the answering machine said. Instead I got a friendly live voice saying "Bonjour - Hello". They followed up by opening me a trade account after telling me that I didn't need to give them my credit card number and then apologising for not being able to ship my parts until Monday morning. Wonderful people. |

RJ you must have gotten a direct Canada number. The number to call for parts is 1-800-874-7740 and I always seem to get Gary on the other end who is very helpful! Until they routed all parts calls to one place, I could get marvin in Tenn but all the parts orders go thru ONE counter now! Ace |

Ditto on the praise, but a word of caution. For years Prevost was very competitive with parts prices. I have purchased everything from airbags to brake chambers to brake linings and pads from them, but this year they blind sided me with brake chambers that were four times what I could get at the local parts store. I don't know if it is a change in policy or I've been asleep for years. I get their prices now and then shop locally. |
