Here is the question: What happens if I use a 12 voltage regulator on a 24 volt 50DN? Is the output(amps) reduced. I know the stator and field coil are different, but what are the risks? If this isn't feasable, I'm looking for a gear drive 50DN 12 volt. |

Believe it or not it works. I put one in a freinds 4905 about a year ago in an emergency and it is still working and going strong. |

Dick, The only thing different is the field. The stator is the same part #. You could replace the field but as Bill points out it will work, but the engine speed needed to produce max output will be about doubled and the output at idle will be half what it would be with the correct field. If you don't have the huge blowers associated with factory HVAC, just do it. Regards Jerry 4107 1120 |
