Does anyone have the parts numbers and blowup picture of the internal workings of the dome shaped hydraulic fan drive used on the 92 series with a 45* tilt engine. I think they are used on the RTS buses. Also the exhaust pipe info for the same engine with a turbo. They are a longer pipe with a flex piece in the middle and a shorter one with the flex piece also. They feed the turbo from the exhaust manifold at the tranny end of the engine to the collector pipe attached to the turbo manifold. If you could contact me via email or fax I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Bill |

Dale If I can't find a diagram of the internal workings maybe that would be the easiest way to fix it. Bill |

An RTS has a 15 degree engine ( most have belt drive fans ), You have a 43 degree engine? The thing is called a " Fan Torus " (oil drive.) Found mostly in Flxible 870's, Some Flyers and a few others with V-Drives. I will check my RTS manual but I think its going to be in the engine manual only. |

David I think you are right. The dipstick had a (45* FLEX) indication on it. These engines came out of Chicago some where and we bought them from a guy in MO. I was told Chicago ran RTS so I assumed it was from them. Nobody has any info on the fan torus or the exhaust pipes. Maybe someone with a Flxible 870 or Flyer will answer the question. Thanks for your help. Bill |

Buswarrior You don't think for one minute that having double knee replacements would stop me from working on it this year now do you. I actually have the engine already to put in after I pull the 8V71 out and modify the cradle. I made up the overdrive for the V731 that Bill Teal designed and got it installed so you can see I don't sit around much. You should come over sometime and chat. Maybe even put a wrench in your hand. Need to install the whole exhaust and some new water and waste tanks before Arcadia. I was afraid Mrs Gerrie was going to whack you with the frying pan if you had bus parts in the house again without an awful good excuse! I will take you up on the invite in the new year. happy coaching! buswarrior |
