Hi all..Searched but didn't find the answers about how anyone went about skinning over the existing windows. What to put over them, where to drill and Rivet, etc..I have double pane Windows in my Saudi MC5C and I figured if I seal the ones I want covered, insulate and figure out how to skin over them on the outside it would be easier then removing them, and also probably better insualtion...If anyone has any techniques or thoughts I would love to hear about it! Thanks! |

Leaving the glass in the window and sealing them between the inner and outer walls, can be a real pain in the arse, if and when they break inside those walls. You'll be listening to the rattles until you get the glass out...

Not to go against what Jonh is saying but my H3 has some pretty big windows. In fact they measure 60 inches wide by 41 inches tall. They are double pane and they were covered over on the outside and I covered over them on the inside with plywood. Before the plywood was installed I packed the air gap between the plywood and glass with foam insulation. I really doubt that they will ever break unless a scud missle happens upon them. For what it's worth, cover them up and don't worry about what MIGHT happen! Ace |

We have a link on the bottom of the first page of our website at www.gypsyjournal.net about our bus conversion project that covers how we skinned over our windows. |
