I hope someone can help me jog my memory, I searched the BNO Archieve files but did not find what I am looking for. I saw a Eagle Website some time ago where the owner installed Air bags over his drive torsilastic tubes. I am in the inquisitive mode as to think of doing this similar thing on my Eagle as I continue with frame modifications on the "Rustless Money Pit". If you can steer me to the owner of this website and bus I would like to talk to him about his modification of assembling of air bags to his Eagle and what are the advantages if any, any problems if any and everything he did do and wishes he had done to this modification on his Eagle. Thanks for your help ahead of time, I probably did not word the search engine properly on BNO for the Archieve files to find this subject. Please post the web site and owner if possible so I may go visit again if you remember what it is. I look forward to meeting many of you in Arcadia at Jack Conrads, (Bussin 2006) bus rally from December 29, 2005 to January 1, 2006. Have a "Merry" "Christ"mas", Please lets not leave "Christ" out of our Holiday. Have a safe trip down to Arcadia this year. Hope your trip was safe and pleasureful Jim & Pat with your RV on your way down to FL. See you there. Gary LaBombard |

I watched Southern Oregon Diesel do this to an Eagle several years ago. I was parked in the adjacent bay having a new radiator fan installed. The SOD guys fabricated some special mounts and did a great job in my opinion. It was a pretty big job I think. Unfortunately I do not remember the Eagle owners name. As I recall he was a retired Chief of Police from a Northern California community. I believe he belongs to the International Eagles group. Really a nice guy and had a beautiful conversion with center door and very large slide out. Maybe San Louis Obispo. I am sure Dave or Dennis at SOD will be glad to give you any information they have. I suspect they made a template which might be available or I am sure they would be glad to do the complete job. They come very highly recommended from anyone that has had dealings with them. I can't give you names, but I have had the opportunity to speak with two Eagle owners that had it done. Both were extremely satisfied with what they described as vastly improved ride qualities. I of course had to inform them that rather than spend the bucks, they could have just bought a GMC :-) |

Last generation MCI F3500's had Air over Torsilastic.... A F3500 chassis is just about the same as it's older sister the Flxible Flxliner...right down to the Engine Compartment Battery Tray...which MCI Opted not to use |

Thank you everyone for the responses to my inquiry about the Eagle / Air bag installation. I will definately look you up sonnie in Arcadia, I am just in the thinking and inquiring stage right now, wish I did this over 3 years ago. Good luck on the last leg of your journey Jim and Pat, thanks so much for the site with the pictues, I am sure that is the one I saw some time ago. Does anyone know who this guy is that has the site that Jim gave me and in the pictures with the air bag modification on the Eagle? http://members.tripod.com/Pipesusmc/KayKay.htm Thanks again for your help. I believe it may have been Chuck Baker that did it at Southern Oregon Diesel. Richard |
