I'm needing, actually wanting, some fancy glass that will go into the upper kitchen cabinet doors. Not sure what design or pattern. Is there a place that sells these? I checked the Depot and they sell them but only certain manufacturers of cabinets that will sell them IF you buy their cabinets. I just want the glass! I was going to put plain plexiglass in temporarily or maybe cut one of those 2x4 acrylic sheets that are used in grid lighting that has some design but I really want glass. Maybe some sort of faceted glass. Is that the right word? Ace |

Have the wife drag you into JoAnn Fabrics, or any of the big craft shops.... Even Walmart's craft department.. They have a kit, complete with beading to outline the various stained designs you make on the glass pane - and stain, to color it in with. When you're done, you'll have what looks like fancy stained glass designed panels! Easy, huh? |

Ace, My wife and I do stained glass as a hobby when we're not working on our bus. I would encourage you to go to a stained glass supply store and see what they have available. You can buy a sheet and cut it yourself, or I'm sure they will cut it for you. Be prepared to see some of the most beautiful glass you've ever seen. I don't know what part of the country you are in but in San Diego I buy most of my stuff from Alpine Glass on University Avenue. There are other stores all over. Call around and ask if they sell stained glass and go check it out. If you need any help let me know. I've got some stained glass in my coach and that is where everyone's eyes alway go to. Good luck. Ace, do you want stained glass or sandblasted glass or etched glass? I just checked Google - sandblasted glass - and came up with this guy in your neck of the woods www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_artists/ article/0,1789,HGTV_3228_1378065,00.html - 31k - HTH Dale MC8 |

Yeah, easy... and CHEAP! Cheap price but more importantly, cheap looking. Go to a custom stained glass shop and have them make custom stained glass panels for you. They'll have a large selection of patterns and custom bevels. Or, better yet, learn to do it yourself and make your own. Not difficult. Try Glass Crafters in Sarasota. They're a supply company. I don't think they do custom work, but maybe they can recommend a custom shop in your area. |

xyz? I guess you missed that comment: "I was going to put plain plexiglass in temporarily or maybe cut one of those 2x4 acrylic sheets that are used in grid lighting that has some design but I really want glass." I've viewed many crafters work at various craft shows, and what can be accomplished with the new products, is nothing short of amazing. Real stained glass cut to size is great, but the "look" can be had for a ton less work and cash. |

Ace, Check out some local Mobile home surplus stores. I was wandering thru one the other day and they had pallets of oak cabinet doors and I saw some stained glass inserts. I am unsure of there quality but may be worth checking out. What size insert are you looking for? Cliff |

I@N now you need to stay completely out of this one. I started it! By the way, did you ever get my email about the last bus I sold? The 4104? Cliff, I'm not sure yet as those doors will be made by the weekend. All other doors are on and working. Had a little set-back these last two days. I guess that comes with doing anything custom! Anyway, the hard part is over and onward and forward or whatever he says! Ace |

Don't use those plastic ceiling thingos, Ace. They fracture and fall apart too easy. Have you considered making up some beveled mirrors? They sell those at HD, Lowes, etc. Can even add etched glass looking designs to 'em. xyz will hate it, but he apparently is an interior decorator. (How's that, I@n? A tomato?) |

I did exactly what you want in the kitchen cabinets I built. Go to your local glass shop. They will have hundreds of samples. You order it just like regular glass and they cut it to your dimensions. Fred Mc. GM PD4106 |

Ace, you could easily do stained glass inserts. I took a 1 hour course in Virginia and made a nice piece. You use coper tape around each piece then solder them together. If you can solder, you can do it. Maybe not before Busin' 2006. |

Mike what I need is 5 pieces. 3 are 9 1/2 wide and 15 7/8 long. 2 are 8 3/4 wide and 17 1/2 long. I would like anything but plain glass such as beveled, stained, or whatever is availlable at a reasonable price. Our cabinets are cherry laminate with white insides. Our fixtures are brushed aluminum and counter tops are off white if that helps. Looks like I will be going to Arcadia with NO glass since my local source crapped out at the last minute! Ace |

WOW that much huh? I think I'll look around a bit! I might have to just do solid doors afterall even though the ones to accept the glass inserts are already done! Hmm... now I have some thinking to do as if I have time to think! Thanks anyway! Ace |

(Aaaahhhhh har har har...snort) (Ah- humph...) Ace... You oughta' really check out Home Depot and look at the beveled mirror stuff.... and check out the craft shops. You won't believe how good some of that stuff looks. You don't tell anyone where you got it, and they'll never know. |

John HD does NOT cazrry beveled glass unless it's already made in mirror form and for a wall! They DO have beveled strips of plastic but again mirror, for putting around the edge of old black edged mirrors to hide the edge! ALL of the glass they carry is plain flat glass either of a particular size or they will cut it to your size needed. NO beveled glass what so ever, at least in the two I was in! Thanks anyway, but for the time being we will play around with something temporary just to keep stuff IN the cabinet while on our trip! Ace |

Yeah Ace... I wondered if you thought of using beveled mirrors instead of stained glass. There's a few high end coaches using it, and it doesn't look all that bad. Those edges fit anywhere...and the mirror's cut to any size. Just a thought... Cheers! |

Well we have mirror on the full backsplash and if I put mirrors in the doors above, I think it would be a bit too much. I mean I can only look at myself so long and with that many mirrors in one place, one could become ill! We will probably just do something quick and simple for the Arcadia trip and change it later like in 2006! Ace |
