I'm looking buying a 1980 eagle 10, and am curious as to if it would be possible(read: not too complicated) to switch out the steering wheel and column from the factory eagle to one from an MCI D-series coach? any input? thanks! |

Actually, I'm quite impressed with your ingenuity, Kyle! (couldn't have done better myself) It -is- kinda' odd though, wanting to change the steering assembly from one bus, to install into another. The Eagles have a nice wheel, the MCIs are clunky. Such a massive, PIA project, for what? It's like taking the steering wheel out of a '80 Chevy to install into a '05 Porsche. |

Give the guy a break. I saw the other post before Ian *****'t it and his first post named another brand and model bus. |

Kyle, Just switching the wheel would be possible, but not likely. Model 5& 10's were typically 7/8" shaft with (36) splines (grooves in the shaft). The 102D's were all 1" (36) spline (wheel puller holes at 1:00 & 7:00). If it was model (15), they are 1" (36)spline. Bart at Grabhorn Enterprises has pretty good knowlege of install's of the tilt telescopics...... Rich 800-468-5287 |

the difference here is that I already found the perfect bus, so I'm not shopping looking for leads, I just want advice on the steering column, but apology accepted. haha. as for why, I like the somewhat "bowl" shape of the d series. the bus I'm interested in has the cream colored eagle wheel, and I'm just not very partial to it. kyle/CA |
