I just redone my 4106 last spring with going to a V730 auto and sheppard power steering. It made it a different coach. A lot easer to drive. you do lose a little in fuel milage I went from 9.5 to 7.5 towing my trailer with a car on it. also you loose a little top end , mine will still run 79 mph. If you have someone do the conversion you have to renforce the bulkhead this is a must with the added torque and you have to make the opening larger for the output of the trans also my water temp when its very hot runs a little hotter. All in all I'm really glad I did it. |

I have a 4905 with the 730 and power steering. It is great to drive and the transmission works great. It holds back real well on the down hills, along with the Jake, braking on the mountain downslopes is seldom necessary. I get from 6 to 7 mpg pulling a Civic. Need more power on the passes but I only have to go slow and let the monsters sail on by. Happy busing. Bill Butler, Wash state. |
