Well, I know its been quite awhile since I have posted here. I have had a lot of thinking to do about my bus, the conversion and its future.

As you know, a good friend, who was my inspiration and source of information had passed. Another fellow who had given me ideas moved away a couple years ago.

This has left me with a wonderful bus, which I enjoyed conversion of, and no where to turn if I get myself in trouble, and boy can I find trouble.

I ran the bus motor some months ago and shut her down. When I tried to start her again, she just turned over. No smoke, nothing. the Emerg shutdown is open, ( I checked ) and I tried to pump fuel through the filters to fuel the beast.

The failure to get her started made me think of how awkward I am to be trying to tackle such a project of this magnitude and no backup help anymore.

The decision I have made was not made lightly and I will miss the gentle rumble of the RTS for travel.

The RTS will be parked on a property for a cabin getaway. I still think the RTS is special and the most sporty looking of all the buses but I feel I am out of my league with Diesel engines.
I am not that good with gas engines anymore either but I have no education with Diesel and I don't like feeling like a big dummy when things go wrong.

I appreciate all those who tried to help me get her running before, most folks just don't realize the resource that is available here at BNO, and I appreciate everything that IAN and you, the users of the board, have offered to me over the years.

I have also enjoyed some of the entries I have been able to place, hopefully to give inspiration and help to other converters out there. Especially electrical household type problems or circuits of special needs. I love a challange and have always enjoyed trying to tackle them when I could.

It has been great and I still enjoy working on the interior of the bus.

IAN, thank you so much for your efforts to make this a fine Bus Billboard. I still think the "Places We Stay" was a sweet idea and I see it is slowly picking up more and more locations. Thankyou so much for giving us a place for a resource of information and a place to sound off.

To all, many thanks (tear in eye) for your efforts to help each other and me when we seem to be up against the hard wall.

I've enjoyed the conversations and information and I have added my nickles worth from time to time.
Never stop giving help to us guys. Some of us need it BAAAAADly. lol We just are too damn shy to admit it.

I hope your Christmas's have been happy, profitable and Joyful.
May your New years be Even better, and NO FAIR to make a New Years Resolution to win a MILLION bucks in the lotto...
those of you still in conversion mode, much luck and hope you see completion soon. It is such a joy to park and talk stories about the work you have completed, or hope to.
My very best to you all and good luck in 2006

Gee CD, I sure hate to see you wither up like this (sniffle, sniffle), Since I have enjoyed your stories and articles so much, why not come back from time to time, and even if you don't have a tale, why not at least lie to us, so the withdrawal isn't quite so bad.

Cheers...JJ

Cory, If you come up with a secret way to wean yourself from the boards, please pass it on.

Although I have not had a bus for a couple of years, I can not seem to quit coming here and of course opening my mouth from time to time.

Please do not go away. You have contributed a lot of good information and I am sure will still have bits of wisdom to pas on from time to time.

Don't give up so easily. You will have too much money left over now without a bus to maintain, tires to buy, fuel to fill the tank and all the things that keep us all broke. Like JJ says, keep in touch. Bill

Gee Cory, I just started posting here and you go and leave.
I'm developing a complex. Maybe the guy was right, about the
new guys driving the ones that know something away...

If you leave Cory, I'll know he was right.....

(please stick around and prove it isn't so?)

Hey you all...
I have lots of hot air left and actual experience to keep my nickles talking. Besides, I still don't like the idea of using cheap extension cord wire for the bus wiring. I'll never agree to that.

No, I be around. I just have to realize that a mechanic, I'm not. I might have been better but anyone with experience is now gone. the bus motor hasnt ran in a year, not that I haven't tried to get it going agian. I'm baffled. the final move will probably be under its own power but I'll have to hire a mechanic to get her running again.

but thanks for your kind comments, even though I can remember a few comments I made agianst somebodies idea I didn't agree fully with, LOL.

And Yes, it is hard to turn away from a great board like this with all you good friends keeping the wheels turning.

I'll tell you one thing, my bus will be one helluva well equipped cabin, RAHAHAHahahahahaa.

I've had such good times here and converting the bus, those times will never go away in my mind. But unless I can find time to go to diesel mechanics school or something, I can't be competant in a diesel motor crisis.

As I have said before, my background has been in electrical circuits. and, (pat myself on the back) I have created some great effects. And an occasional Not so great affect. But all in all, they all worked as designed, well, one way or the other.

thanks for the support fellows, I'll be round and anything I can help you with, let me know. I have some interesting circuits designed in the MagicOdyssey that I have never seen anywhere else. Of course to make that magic happen, I had to stray away from the KISS rule a bit, well, A WHOLE LOT!! It just would not work SIMPLE.

Looking forward to chatting sometime or working on some strange circuit to help make the magic happen. I like that stuff.

I appreciated the comments on my posts. Gee whiz guys (blush), all I can say is I have tried to keep on the topic, not that I might have strayed a bit here or there. And tried to keep people out of trouble with their project. if I at least gave them an idea to check thier work a second time, then I did good. I tried to stay on theory or what I know to be true and it has served me well, as it has the bus nut community since I have always tried to share what I can.

You all have a fabulous and productive NewYears and a great year.

Thanks again

Listen Cory... The engineering you.... You are needed here!

I'm personally looking to modify this device to use on a bus
conversion to prevent an early engine failure. I'm sure the
re-engineering process of this device would be something you
could enjoy. And it would take your mind off any other problems...
