What is the best way to do this I need to have some work done on my 740 It leaks oil when cold and in reverse (a lot)., in forward I do not see any leakage. but I can not see where it is coming from. |

Check the back-up light switch on the transmission. It is a pressure switch activated when the reverse circuit is pressurized. I have seen several of these switches fail. Thay are accessible from the outside of the transmission on the drivers side, just above the pan. Hope this helps, Jack |

Probably, unless reverse circiut carries a higher pressure when cold. What make and model of bus? If MCI, you can see this switch from the drivers side engine compartment door. Or clean switch and area around it, start engine, put in reverse, shut off engine and inspect the area around the switch. This will confirm or rule out the switch as the possible cause of your leak. Hope this helps, Jack |
