Does anyone know of a company that will transport a bus from west coast to east coast. Does anyone have any idea what the cost is?

Bob there are many companys that could do it for you, but the cost is going to be expensive! I'm guessing by transport you mean haul on a lowboy or Landoll style trailer. Or could it be towed by a tow truck? Wrecker is cheaper, but still high figure on about $3.00 =/- per mile plus a hook up fee! Landoll would be more but prefered way to "transport". Now if it's driveable thats another story, and there are many companies, or private individuals you could hire to do this! My dad, or possibly some of the other coach drivers would be willing to do this for you! If needed to be hauled or towed I suggest you check with a reliable, large wrecker service in yer area, if they have a Landoll or similar style trailer they could find a load going out close to where the bus is and haul it back for ya probably at a fair price, but keep in mind these Wreckers and trailers cost lots of $ to buy, maintain, & insure so the owners & yer idea of "fair" may differ. Two years ago I paid a driver $500 plus expenses to help me drive my bus back from New Jersey. I had to have someone with a CDL as at the time I only had a permit for my class B license. The class B is required in Cal because my bus is over 40 ft.

Expenses were airfare, meals and would have been hotel, but we mostly drove straight through, slept in the bus, and he stayed at a girlfriends in Arkansas one night.

I think the going rate for non accompanied transport is typically $1000 to $3000.

Prevost, the dealer, located him for me. I think any large bus company has people like that that they know. Even MAK might know of someone if you called their office.

If you want I can look up his number for you to see if he is still doing that.

Had our 35 footer flatbedded from CA to NY, the cost was $3400.00. That was over a year ago, likely much more now with fuel prices.

Bob there are many of us whose buses are being worked on and are needing adverture. I propose a group effort driving and or pushing it cross country. I have friends who have figured out how to get people to pay their own airfare to deliever a sail boat at the worst times of the year in the worst weather, and enjoy it!!! Attitude is the difference between adventure and ordeal.

Bob,
I sent you an email with a name and number on it. This company has a double decker to take out to California and may be interested in a back haul.
Godspeed,
Michael
