Yeah, I know this has been hashed and rehashed but I searched and only found two strings about tires?? I know there are dozens but I'm not smart enough to find them.

I checked on front tires for my 4104 which is very light weight because of a modest conversion. I haven't weighed it but my guess is around 22000.

The tire dealer is quoting 14 ply Toyo 11Rx22.5 for $288 plus $15 mounting fee plus a bunch of taxes.

I now have 12 ply in which I carry 75psi. 14 ply tires call for 100-120psi and I know this is going to result in a rougher ride. I see no need for anything over 12 ply for my use. He says they don't even sell any 12 ply anymore but offers to order and size or brand I want.

I've read in previous threads that tires are made especially for buses and I think that is the ones I want.

Could I please have comments on this issue from peop;e with actual experiences with both plies and the Toyo brand, or a different brand you highly recommend from experience.

I have a 4905A with new Toyo 11 X 22.5, 14 ply and about 100 lbs the ride is not bad at all. I had a BBird Wanderlodge before with same tires. BB is much heavier still worked very well. I am happy with the Toyo. To each his own tho I think

Hi Gus,
I can get 11R22.5 Dynatrac 14 ply for you at $210. each including F.E.T.. That is cost to me. I am in Delaware. If anyone needs tires, I'll be happy to pass them on at cost,not a dime in my pocket.

I have a 4104(completed conversion) running on 11R22.5 Toyos. I would have to look at them to check the number of plys for you, and can't do that at the moment. Probably 14.

I run 100 psi in the front and have no complaints with the ride. They came on my 4104 when I purchased her, and in 6 years I have had no tire problems. (Although I am looking to replace them because of age.

Gus, normally you adjust the pressure to the load, not to the number of plies. The number of plies will set the maximum pressure, and because of this, the maximum load.

The maker may well have a minimum pressure listed for those tires, but in order to know that, you have to read all the information given on the maker's pressure chart for that tire.

That looks like a pretty good price on those Toyos. Usually, they are kind of expensive.

Thanks to all. It appears that this is a pretty good deal. Probably because the dealer says it is his best selling steer tire. Amazing that there have been no negatives?

I presumed that running them at 100psi would be too low but I guess heavy duty tires are built to adjust press to load.

What brand is a Dynatrac? I appreciate the offer but I'm afraid the shipping would kill me. Any idea what the shipping would be for two to 72513? This is a bunch of miles from DE.

I think 14 ply is a "G" noted at the end of the tire size numbers
