I'm posting this again; it seems to be one of the messages that got lost. Thanks for the help! I finally got around to cleaning (powerwashing)the spare tire compartment. There was a lot of grease, dirt, and, of course, the spare tire. I looked there before I bought it, but the dirt hid the rust. I've posted a couple of pics in my Yahoo photo album at http://ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/mci-bus-nuts/photos/browse/c276?c= The trusses that run lengthwise on each side of the spare tire compartment are rusted. I have a couple of ideas on how to repair the trusses, but I can always use more. Of greater concern is the hole in the frame in the lower corner. The frame seems fine around this area otherwise. I'm not sure if I should just remove the alum. floor to the compartment and the back panel to get access to this part of the frame. I'm sure that many converters have had to deal with this. I'd love to hear how others have repaired this rust. |

Are you a member of the Yahoo MCI group? If so, you should be able to see 'em. If you are and can't, let me know. Thanks. |
