I own a 1964 GM 4106 and want to replace the steel rims with aluminum ones. My problem is with the front rims. The existing studs for the steel rims are not long enough for the new aluminum rims. Where can I buy these longer studs? The hub end thread is 4 inches on the existing stud. I need an extra 1/2 inch for it to be long enough for the aluminum rim. I have tried searching for this particular length but to no avail. None of the large commercial suppliers were able to help me. They can match the existing stud but can not find one that is 1/2 inch longer on the hub end. Anyone ever switch over their rims from steel to aluminum on a 1964 GM 4106?
