Received bad news today as there was a bad car crash in town on the news. Sad to say it happend to be Susan's niece that was driving the f-150 that had a collision with a utility truck which got up ended. Carla (Susan's niece) went into and out of surgery and as of now is doing ok. The outcome was not as good for her young daughter and her young friend who both lost thier lives in the crash! Was told that Carla was ejected from the truck and the two kids were not. No seat belts were used by any of the occupants in either vehicle so witnesses say. I will learn more tomorrow as to how all of this transpired!

Ace - Be strong for Susan, she'll need your support during this very emotional period.
We all need to be respectfully prayerful for Carla especially, regardless of your religious affiliation. The emotional turmoil she will be going thru will only exacerbate the healing process from her surgery. Our children are supposed to outlive us, not the other way around.
A few moments of quiet reflective thought towards Carla and her family daily will help ease the pain and assist the healing process.

Ace, I dont know you or Susan but this must be a horrable expericence to go thru. I will pray not only for you and susan but for the whole family of both vehicles.

Ace & Susan…very sorry for tragic accident. Yes as RJ Long said...Susan need your loving supports.
If children not reach the age of accountability, will be automatically be in the glorified place…Heaven with the Lord!
Even though I haven’t lost a child yet but it must hurt emotionally when children not to be around with love one.

Susan & Ace,
Please accept Maisie's and my most sincere condolences on the news of the death of your great-niece and her friend.
Our wish is that both grieving families find it in their hearts to help each other through this event and to not be alone and without each other, for this tragedy brings with it the unity of feelings... and, hopefully, through time, peace.

Personal family information just received is that Carla is still in critical condition and heavily sedated with many broken bones in legs and ankles. Her husband is doing ok and keeping strong. Carla is also Pregnant with 2nd child and not sure at this time if she will lose this child or not. The best friend of Morgan's who also lost her life in the crash would have turned 9 tomorrow! Grandmother who is very elderly and in poor health herself has been at hospital by Carla's side from the beginning!

Just getting caught up on the board and read this Terrible news.
As a father of two young children I can't imagine the grief your entire family is feeling.

Update on Carla is she had to undergo surgery again today in which they removed part of her scull and part of her brain dur to blood clotting. Don't know all the particulars at this time but was told that it is a day to day thing at this time. Another sad note is that her daughter was buried today all without her mom even knowing!
The funeral home was jam packed last evening with parking that looked like a super bowl. Carla's husband Ronnie seems to be holding up pretty well but her dad is torn up pretty bad because he spoiled her daughter and cherished her like she was his own! Really hard to imagine what will happen from here on when, and If, Carla comes thru ok! It's just very sad around here right now!

Ace, Every once in awhile you get a little less patient, almost to the point of being "testy."
This isn't an easy time for you and your family.
Keep in mind, with the subdural hemotoma, Carla may develop a condition expressing large, emotional mood swings. (Separate and apart from the loss of her child.) As a good faith warning to you, You'll have to exercise a bit more patience with her, something I know you'll want to do. I just would hate to have you caught by surprise and have both yours and her feelings hurt.
I'm sorry for her loss and the fact that this tragedy will be impacting all for many years to come. |

Thanks for asking. Carla, as of early last night is still in IC and it appears to be one of those day to day situations. Not much any of us here can do now except wait. Sometimes I think that is the hard part! The latest was she had to have more surgery to relieve blood clots in the brain and not being a medical expert, I still know that isn't a good thing either way!

Ace and Susan... we've been out of town and just now catching up on the news. We are so sorry to hear of the terrible accident and just want to say you are all in our thoughts and prayers, both for the loss suffered and for Carla's recovery.
