Have a 1960 04 we tow a race car trailer with. The hitch was attached to the rear and bolted to the u channel and the bars that go foward. Coming home yesterday the channel gave up and the hitch went towards the ground. Has anyone changed the alum channel to steel ? Im thinking 1/2 plate and angle welded to it to help in that area
