How is a '95 Dina as a conversion candidate? I really like the idea of a Series 60 and a B500 tranny. Easter Bus Sales has been trying to sell one for months. My plan is to contact them if if doesn't sell on Ebay. I talked to a MCI salesman today. He said the '95 and '96 Dinas had some electrical issues and the defrost didn't work due to poor design that is easily correctable. He recommended a 97 or newer instead. He did say the torsilastic suspension rides real nice. MCI still sells parts since they sold over 1000 of them. Brian Elfert |

Brian if you can afford it, GO FOR IT! Everyone has always complained and told me and a friend / competitor nearby that Dina's are junk and have nothing but electrical problems, but he's got 2 of 'em and couldn't or wouldn't complain about either of them! He runs the wheels off 'em I mean they're on the go all the time! He's had minor issuses with several relays (A/C system etc.) but has always figured it out and got it going by himself! He's not a master electrician or technician either, just a good ol' farmboy and got in the charter bus business about 5 yrs ago and the Dina's were the first 2 buses he bought! I've done some work on his and as far as being able to work on they are easier than any coach I've ever worked on! The access to the top of the enginge (and both sides from the top is awesome!) is supper easy! I love my Setra's but I think for what you want it'll be a great way to go! Just my 2 cents worth! BK |
