I just got a '54 Crown with (I think) a 590 Hall Scott. Quite a machine, I'm gonna spend a few weeks trying to see how everything operates. Right now the starter isfrozen, so we had to pull start it. It was hilarios, one guy towing with a 4 X 4, the bus farting and firing, and my buddy Kenny runing alonside as fast as he could shooting ether into the air vent. So if ANYBODY knows much aobut these great beasts, I'd love to swap lies. I've been saving Hall Scott stuff for the last few years off the net, and also have a friend who has an 1100 cubiic inch hall scott in a Fire Truck. the battereies were down that day, but I would sure love to hear that big boy rumble. OK Hall Scott folks, I'll look for you on BNO, or for sending photos and stuff, my email is WheelchairBusProject@yahoo.com. Have a good one Patrick Young Fresno, CA |

Patrick, Have an old friend who used to wrench on school buses when he had his shop. Said Hall Scott's were 1 for 1! One mile for one gallon. He is 74 now, but sharp as ever. If you want to know something that he might know, let me know. The email is, of course, yahoo, but that isn't what I want bots to know. TomNPat |

Howdy TomNPat Sure I would love to chew the Hall Scott fat with your old expert friend. I know gas engines OK, have owned a few dozen of them, but this Hall Scott is one interesting beast. I'm still wondering how you govern a gas engine. Briggs and Stratton I can tell, on this fella, all see is a big diaphragm. All Hall Scott fans, give us a hand! thanks pat Young Fresno, CA |
