My brother in-law has a diesel well drilling rig and the fuel tank has a sludge problem that keeps plugging the filters. I assume it is a bio problem. He has added the biocide but it continues to clog filters. will the fuel need to be drained or just keep adding the biocide until the black sludge goes away?? Thanks Steve |

Steve It alge growing in the tank, its common. I's add some diesel fuel conditioner to it, Depending how bad its grown in the tank you might have to drain it and clean it. Lee |

If the tanks cannot be drained, you might see if there is a 'fuel polisher' in your (or your brother-in-law's) area. They will filter and pump the fuel around and attempt to clean the tank until clean. Best would be to drain the tank, boil it in a tank and reinstall. Scott |
