We have a sealand traveler toilet, the ball seal leaks I replaced the seal about 4 months ago and it just started to leak again we use it every day as we full time is there a trick to keeping the seal in good shape so it will not leak? The Extremefamily GMC 4106-2802 |

hahahahah.... Pete .... take the clamp ring off between the bowl and bottom of the Sealand and clean it good and smear the vas on and it will keep the seal soft if it's leaking to the out side. The valve on the side that lets the water in has always been notorious for leaking and thats a manufacturing defect they never corected. |

If you're talking about the flush ball leaking, pick up the flush ball kit and replace the ball along with the seals. The ball can get scratches and wear out the seal quickly... also the shaft that the ball has, gets worn and keeps the ball from making a good fit. A pal of mine with 8 kids says he still uses a jar of Vaseline a week! Only now when they're in the bedroom, he smears it on the doorknob to keep the kid out. |

We have used some vaseline on ours for years and it rarely drains down. |

Usually its one of 2 problems. Hard water will stick and build up calcium depostis that will ruin the sealing. Frequently Lime away or similar helps. A spray of Pam will help use less water , and lubricate everything. The other problem is closing the ball on waste paper , which hardens and effects the seal. Dont . FAST FRED |

Thanks for all your input. Upon further inspection I found calcium buildup or something like it I used CLR to clean it than added Vaseline seems to be working fine now it looks like I will need to keep up on it. (It’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it) HaHa The Extremefamily.com 4106-2802 |
