Has anyone tried a cell repeater rather than a cell phone amplifier and antenna? The amplifier is hard wired to your phone. The repeater is just like you might expect – it repeats your signal outbound and repeats the inbound signal too. They were first used in large building – especially metal buildings.

I could use one for my office – cell reception is poor. Maybe I should get one that will work in the bus too.

Jack,

We have used them at several Comm sites that are in either metal enclosed buildings or have metal roofs.

Our end users are happy.

I bought an amplifier/repeater for my truck thinking it was the answer to my problems. It just wasn't so.
I called Wilson technicians and spent over a half an hour trying to get it to work right. The built in antenna did just as good, and the roof mount on my truck did better without the amp/repeater.
I bought it from ALF Enterprises, 18933 59th Ave. NE Ste 108, Arlington WA 98223.
I called them and explained the situation and asked to return it for a refund. They said "no problem" and gave me their UPS acount no. to send it back.
2 weeks later I emailed them and asked about my refund and was told it would be credited to my acount on the next business day. That was June or July of 2004. After a bunch of emails, which he ignored,I still haven't recieved my refund.
I will never again, spend any money on a Wilson product, as ALF Ent. is one of their authorized dealers.
Since I had his UPS acount no. I shipped him a thousand pounds or so of creek gravel at his expense. Called it special landscaping material. He may have gotten me for $308.50 but he didn't make any money on the deal.

We have used them in several buildings with good success. If coverage exists outside the building, they giive decent coverage inside. I have not seen one work in a vehicle though.
