i used brass door slide latches to keep the doors closed while moving and also to keep them from closing when the unit is shut off. |

I copied what the RV's have an L shaped piece of stainless with a hole in it for pin bolted to the holes where you can switch door hinge from left to right between top and bottom door make a 2 diameter pin such as a bolt with rubber tubing half the length and drop it in the hole, will also keep doors from closing when stored. There is a plastic latch I saw on a rental house boat in On Shuswap Lake, BC, Canada. You push it aside to open. It automaticly latches again when closing. It is a one handed operation. It mounts on the side of the refrigerator and sticks out about 1/2 inch beyound the door. If you know where to order these, I would like to get one. I have tried to copy it with ABS plastic and a heat gun but it is not quite right. |
