Auto, no. Manual, yes.

You can use a pump to keep the transmission lubricated, or use one of those halfshaft disconnect gizmos that the Remco people make.

The Taurus are front wheel drive and you have to use the Remco lock out axel. You cannot use a lube pump on a ford transmission.
