Hello all. Most of my experience has been with mc-9's how ever I have a RTS sitting around the yard and have always liked the GM 4905. They both have 8v71's in them. Both are left hand rotation. Any of you knowledgeable bus nuts know if the automatic transmission from the RTS would fit onto the standared shift 4905. I think I could change bell housing and all. Any gear ratio issues????? Any thoughts. |

Larry, The RTS probably has a V730 transmission. The V730 can be put into the 4905 but some bulkhead cutting will need to be done and a new driveshaft made. The result will have a top speed about 8 % slower due to the smaller overdrive in the 730. Regards Jerry 4107 1120 |
