This is my annual 671 owners warning. The hub that the fan is attached to can come apart and ruin your day. It tends to go through the radiator. Grab your fan and if it has even the smallest movement fore and aft change it quick. The rubber insert dries out and comes apart.New radiator, fan, hoses and mostly along side the road somewhere not to mention anti freeze I learned this the hard day. Oh yes, it takes a special wrench to pull the hub. Not to be found in to many places |

calbob, Thanks, we ole 671ers appreciate this kind of stuff. I'll check mine tomorrow. In return, please check your muffler flanges where they attach to the manifolds. I had a hole in one muffler and the flange rusted through on the other (Not visible until clamp removed) One guy said he had a fire because of a muffler leak. Those 671 mufflers are out of sight and out of mind. I can't thank him enough because I also found my clutch bellcrank arm and pin almost completely worn through. Sure would have ruined my day to push on the clutch pedal and have nothing happen!! |

Checked the 671 fan hub today on my 4104, tight as a drum. Absolutely no movement of any kind. Good thing because we're leaving on a 5000 mi trip tomorrow!! |
