A long time ago I posted some pictures of my 4905 but can't remember the site. I have several pictures of my MC8 to post but don't know where to put them |

Put 'em in your website, in a separate directory..... like: http://www.captainronshow.com/bus pix/ Just create a directory on your server, as "bus pix", and dump whatever you want, into it. I'd suggest using an "index.html" file, and put the pix in that html document, but... am I going too far over yer head? (and fix your damn link in your profile, it reads: http://www%22dot%22captainronshow%22dot%22com/ and won't go anywhere like that! Same thing with your Email link) Kids..... Jeeeez... |

Oh Man.... and here I just registered rvbus.cc and busrv.org! HAR! David... Here's another tale: Our web business name ends with a plural "s", and it's a fairly unique name... Once we made our mark and had over 15k visits a day (back in 1990s), we found a competitor registered the same name without the plural "s". Grrrrrrr..... So..... I added -that- name numerous times on every one of our 50+ pages, and added it to the meta tag for "keywords". Anyone searching for that (our) name without the "s", found us anyway. If you have a site that's sitting high in the "googles", it'll stay high. The competitor will have some problems, even if he tries the same thing. Popularity breeds popularity... It's all about the hits, man! |

Bruce... Any hosting service, like: www.Hosting4less.com and a copy of "MS Frontpage", can put your biz online in a flash! The "Frontpage" program is one of those wysiwyg types... (what you see is what you get). You can use their templates and drag and drop whatever you want into the page. Or, you can use the HTML ability, and build the code... Either way, it's foolproof! Getting to the top of the search engines, is another topic.... DO IT, BK.... do it. |

Captain Ron & Busted Knuckle, If you need any assistance setting up your personal web space or your partitioning your business web sites, please let me know. We can meet some time in the chat room and I can walk you through the process live and you can do the necessary steps as we go along until it works correctly. I can then walk you through the short process of setting up your new picture portfolio on our BNO Links page. After you're up and running, I'll clear the chat room of any of our conversation and everyone goes home happy. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance whatsoever. :: JW Smythe :: Please refrain from attracting my viewers to your own bus web site and please don't advertise it here. Thank you. Don't forget that many ISPs (your Internet providers) have personal webspace that comes with the standard package, so you might have Webspace and not know it. Sometimes these are modest 10MB limits, but you can cram quite a few pics in that space if you keep the resolutions down and the compression up. I for one don't like the photo sites. Links will hit preset traffic domains and shut them down AND pics drop off after awhile or require viewers to register... Ugh! If you want something more, there's some free domain hosting (that often tends to be flaky... ya get what you pay for), but these days you can get 100MB or more and 4GB of transfer for less than $6/month. For a decent WYSIWYG Website building package for Windows, I prefer Namo Web Editor. I got it for about $80. Puts FrontPage to shame, IMHO. Dreamweaver's the best hands down, but a bit $pendy for most folks, and has a fairly steep learning curve. If you just want picture postings and albums online, check out the wonderful and FREE Picasa from Google. Shop around, and HTH, bb |
