The latest issue of the FMCA has a good article in silencing the beast.
The noise that any gen set makes is as much an attack on your camping neighbors ,
as a nasty noisey dog or
Harley with Megaphones boob.
This article starts to cover how a good noise , containment box is made ,
and how the $$$ spent on different products buys different levels of quiet.
Not much on quieting down an exhaust , or how to handle the cooling air , but a great start for anyone bulding a coach thats not for the boonies ONLY.
