Now that was a right quick answer RJ, I thank you!! Now my interest is pik'ed.... I have only owned this coach a short while but it has been my observation that there are quite a few in private hands still hard at work, is there an association of 4106 owners or has anyone compiled a list of those coaches that have surrvived their working life in transit? My 06 has been one of the more straight forward and simple vehicles to repair and work on, and its reliability seems to be legend. It would seem to me that there would be an enterprise that would specialize in parts and/or repair, am I correct? |

There are a number of sources for the most common parts , as many are still being made , and fit in current production coaches. The harder stuff is body parts , or items that became specific to the GM's. Gary Dean is one source, as is LUKE at US Coach , 1-888-COACH 34. These guys purchase odd lots of parts from commercials that are finally switching over to coaches with TV in every seat. Not bad after 45 years in service. Most everything is still avilable , and if we can hold our breath a couple of years , the Transits with 4 stroke V drive engines and automatic trannys ( Unfortunatly} will be avilable for a few hundred bucks a coach , to use as donors. This will up date the drive package to the year 2000 and will allow another half or full century of operation. Unlike Skoolies or Transits , the shell of the early coaches was not designed for a 12 year service life. Thats why there are tales of 3 million mile coaches, think how long that would take { and still not be shot} in a typical RV situation. Even one million divided by 20,000 RV miles is a LOT of years!!
