ER, not that you asked for this, but rather than throw $ at a clutch rebuild, it might be the time to at least consider a V730 or VS2-8 automatic "update". Your late-model Buff had an auto as an option.

I just upgraded to an auto 4108 and it's so much nicer for camping and getting around town.

If you stick with the clutch, you might try your closest transit authority garage and see if they have some leads.

"I just "DOWNgraded" to an auto 4108 and it's so much nicer for camping and getting around town."

And the milage went DOWN to?

And the speed went DOWN at cruise to?

I was wondering when someone would rag on him about this! :-)

And when he announced it, it was ostensibly to keep the missus happy. Ha. Now it's "so much nicer."

Well, by all means...let's have the nicest experience we can have, shall we?

LOL - just pokin' yer ribs, buddy.

Yup, Chuck, my kids have memorized this phrase, "when Momma's happy, everybody's happy." No truer words were ever uttered.

FF:
My MPG/MPH experience, so far:
4106/Spicer: 8.0mpg @ 74mph (2000rpm)
4108/V730: 7.5mpg @ 68mph (2000rpm)

Worth it? Gads, yes. I can back up my driveway now. Stopsigns/lights at hills... no problem. Six point turns, rush-hour traffic... no worries. Beach and forest campsites, slooow backing and tight spaces... let her creep.

And Momma can (and does) drive the slushbox.

Maybe a downgrade for some, but an upgrade for us, since it changes the way we travel and where we can camp.

Just my way,
Brian "going slow, burning fuel with a smile on my face" Brown
