Okay, this update is for all who helped us with our latest problem. When the nice people who rebuilt our starter looked inside, they said the ?plunger? wasn't even extending fully, so it's no wonder it wasn't working, because it wasn't engaging the flywheel correctly. They said whoever had done the last rebuild did a terrible job. So, it wasn't the original starter, but it certainly wasn't a good one, either. They also had a good laugh over the counterclockwise part, because the serial number on the shell was for a clockwise starter, so the younger mechanic tested it to see if it was really counterclockwise, and then the owner came out and said, yeah, see this switch? It's counteclockwise! SO- It's running, although it took a few tries to get it going. Now we'll let it run for an hour to make sure the air pressure is okay, and then hopefully drive it to our new property in 2 days. Thanks to everyone!
