I had a motor home that I stored in a barn at my farm in southern New Mexico for about one month and the mice got in and made a mess of things; ate everything including wiring insulation and toilet paper, didn't touch a bag of doritos though, that should tell you something. I now have a 4104 but I fear storing it in that barn, anyone know of ways to keep mice out??

Home Depot sells a electronic unit (hi-pitch sound) that will drive mice out. They are not expensive, will not bother dogs, not a large voltage requirement. Downside is you require 110 volt supply

We store our motorhome in a barn. I put moth balls under & around the perimeter of coach. No problems in several years.

While I haven't tried it, a good friend swears by dryer fabric softener cloths. He has several antique cars stored in a barn type building and just covers the engine and interior floor with the cloths. Claims never to had a mouse in them. Others who store in the same building have had major problems with their cars. I think it might be worth trying.

I have tried poison, ended up with really bad stinks when the mice died in the walls.

I have tried traps, ended up with really bad stinks when the mouse babies died in the walls.

I have tried the electronic pest control thingies from Home Depot, had a mouse build a nest right in front of it!

I do surely wish there was a nice solution to the mouse problem.

I've tried the electronic deal, the moth balls and the fabric softner sheets..The best thing I found is to buy some mouse traps and catch the little devils..

I've heard moth balls work too. Rat poision is really a blood thinner much like heparin given to cardiac patinets. Just an excessive amount. When the mouse bumps into something they bleed to death internally. Boric Acid works on ants & other bugs. As far as a Kitty, you have fur balls they have coughed up. Kitty unine on your tires or worse yet, your furniture. You don't have to clean up after moth balls. You do have to empty traps. I do like cats but I am glad I am no longer a kitty parent.

Jeffery, if you go re-read the reply about the Kat, it says "HOUSEBROKE" or in this cae "BUSBROKE"!

My ole' Kat is 13 yrs old weighs in at 12lbs and is "Busbroke"! He goes to the door like a dog and let's you know he needs out. He has slept in our eagle all thruout the conversion without the first anything. I leave the toll window open at night and he goes out on his own. Besides, many kids love cats, and you don't have to worry about them ingesting a sickening chemical by mistake.

I guess it all comes down to whatever works for you!

There is somekind of poison out there, (I am told) that will kill 'em and then dries them out so there is no stink.
Obviously the best answer is to find the hole the little rodent has found to get in and plug it up in the summer when they are out frolicing in the fields. When the find the entrance closed off, they should go elsewhere. - cd
