A Summary? (Excerpt from: www.mcall.com) "-Walker was acquitted of three counts each of theft by deception and theft by deception for receiving stolen property in the cases of three customers who said they paid him $146,500 for coaches they never got. -Walker was convicted of one count of deceptive business practices, five counts of theft by deception and five counts of theft by deception for receiving stolen property for taking $256,016 from five customers. -A Lehigh County jury deliberated 22 hours over two days –– longer than many homicide trials –– before finding Samuel Walker guilty of 11 felonies. The verdict was announced shortly after 10 p.m. -Judge William E. Ford set sentencing for Sept. 12 and told Walker that his sentence will depend on how much restitution he pays to the victims before that date. ''What will make a difference is not partial restitution but restitution in full,'' Ford said. -Deputy District Attorney David Ritter said that if Walker also pays back money to customers who were the subjects of the not-guilty verdicts, that ''would go a long way'' in influencing the prosecution's position at sentencing. (?? say what?) -The judge denied a request by Ritter to increase Walker's $90,000 bail. The last thing the court wants, Ford said, is for Walker, who is free on bail, to be in jail and unable to make arrangements to pay restitution. -''The pressure is on,'' the judge said. -Defense lawyer John Karoly, who said he will appeal the verdict, said Walker ''is committed'' to making restitution. He said Walker is left with the option of liquidating assets because a substantial impediment to earning money was a bail condition that Walker couldn't perform new work at his factory if the amount exceeded $3,000." It sounds like the jury had a tough time sorting Walker's mess out. Walker can probably sell his garage and property for enough to make full restitution. |

I guess its OK to call him a convicted felon then - I hope people will stop defending him now - Richard - Not only would I bet he never put a dime down on it - but if any of it is in his name (and that's a big if) its probably liened and mortgaged to the hilt - Remember the guy told the Bankruptcy Court in Fla he was broke, zero assets - You don't suppose he lied, do you? Sorry to all the people like the Grigsby's - this may be the only satisfaction they may get - But I don't expect the jerk to show up for sentencing - FWIW |

Maybe now SW will finally decide to put those engineer certified "quad slide-out" plans for older MCI coaches up for public sale . Much easier running a photo-copy machine and shipping mail orders than running a coach conversion factory I speculate. Could there be a better sign of remorse than helping the conversion community evolve??? I still remember those "build your own" submarine plans you could purchase threw the back of the comic books in the sixties. Of course someone told me the plans were for a cardboard submarine and that it was just another Barnum Bailey deal. |

Weren't the Grigsby's the ones that told Walker they wanted the roof raised higher than they originally ordered, after Walker finished their roof raise to their original plans? Can you imagine the work involved in completing a roof raise, then having to undo it all and raise it higher? I'd hate to have too many customers like that.... One is too much. Uhh... maybe Walker had a few too many? I'm not supporting the jerk... But it sounded to me, that Walker just lacks good common sense and business skills... His entire project got too big, too fast... and he wasn't prepared for anything that size. His customers suffered, his employees, and him... For anyone intentionally bilking people, the courts are usually tough. In Walker's case, both the Judge and jury were fairly lenient. |

LOL Truthhunter I ordered one of those submarines when I was a kid. I had visions of Seahunt going through mind. I could not sleep for weeks until my shinny new yellow sub arrived. Then the big day finally arrived and it came in a cardboard box that’s right, a cardboard submarine in a cardboard box. But hey it came with a periscope and plastic torpedoes that would shoot about five feet. Boy was I disappointed but what the hey live and learn I didn’t order the airplane they had. Wvanative |

Wvanative<<< I did the same thing. My brother bought the airplane. The airplane would 'fly' more gliding than flying, but what 10yr old really cares. Oh, It wouldn't fly with a passenger, but my brother put fire crackers along the sides, with a common fuse and threw it off the local bridge. Using the family super 8 camera, he filmed it 6 times going down like a plane being shot down. after cutting and editing, he had what looked great to a 10-12 yr old. Better than some Audy Murphy of Duke movies. The problem with the sub was it would go down, waterlog and not go back up. OK, I was 4 years younger than him. It wasn't all bad.... I learned to swim at 50° water temp. Mom and Dad Laughed! woe is Me! Dallas |
