!02a2 mci charging light comes on when parking brake is applied. Release brake and light goes out.Thanks for any help. |

Hello lbrown. I would first suspect the dashboard indicator lights are getting their wires crossed. Does the stop lights indicator light when the brake pedal is pushed while underway? Does that model of MCI have a parking brake indicator and what is it doing? I remember that the A model dashboard is hell on my knees/long legs if the seat doesn't go back far enough, but I can't picture the indicator lights! happy coaching! buswarrior |

Is it possible that the warning light bulbs/fixtures in the dash are in the wrong position? (mixed up) I mean that the light that's coming on with the parking brake really is the parking brake indicator instead of the not charging light? I dont know for sure about 102, but this would be an easy mix up on MC9 and 9. |

It was working right just two days ago.I should add that I noticed when I apply brake pedal and the brake lights come on . the not charging comes on, but not as bright.There are quite a few lights on the back,could my alta. not be putting out enought.How can I check its output. Thanks.lbrown |

Check the ground leads at th instrument panel. It looks like the ground is being supplied by whatever else is in use.... (the ground leads at the rear electrical panel are suspect also!) |

ditto on what JMC9 offered without actually looking at a schematic this would be the first guess to check with voltage drop or resistance to ground, (look for a corrsion on the coomon gorund if not ground side "switched"). While you at it and before disturbing any connection you might answer your charging question with a volt meter looking for at least 27 volts at the battery with the engine running if charging and indicator light doing it's malfunction. Not as good as amp output, but enough to tell you if the indicator light is false. |
